Mar Brettmann, PhD, is the Founding Executive Director and CEO of Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST). BEST is a Washington-based nonprofit that educates employers to prevent human trafficking and creates pathways to employment for survivors and at-risk youth. Dr. Brettmann has over 20 years of experience educating adults in academic and corporate settings and 10 years of experience specializing on the issue human trafficking. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy from The University of St. Andrews in Scotland and is author of the book, Theories of Justice, as well as numerous articles on human rights and human trafficking, published in academic journals and popular media.
